To mark the arrival of autumn, the Ferm Living Boutique invites children to enjoy one of the season’s most familiar creative activities: apple stamping. From 10–18 October, stop by with your kid and spend some time getting creative in the heart of Copenhagen. The activity includes choosing one of our Hokan Textile Storage pieces and using a fresh apple to create a playful print, adding a personal touch to a practical piece. Each child receives an apple juice from the Frydenlund Slot Orchard, while accompanying adults can enjoy a cup of coffee or tea.

Just north of Copenhagen, Frydenlund Slotsplantage is a charming destination for a crisp autumn day. The organic orchard is home to more than 28 varieties of apples and pears, with families invited to pick their own fruit and wander among the trees. 
 Apple picking is open every weekend until week 42, from 10:00–16:00, while the farm shop is open every day of the year from 08:00–18:00 for freshly picked fruit and other seasonal finds.

Located in the heart of the Carlsberg District, among the neighbourhood’s historic buildings and newer architecture, Bette is a cosy café made with both little ones and grown-ups in mind. With its baby- and child-friendly setting and wealth of ideas for family life, it makes a welcoming place to pause for coffee, play and creative moments. Bette will close at the end of November, with the final day of opening on Sunday, 29 November, making the coming weeks a lovely time to visit before its doors close.

A historic forest park characterised by open landscapes, winding paths and ancient trees, Dyrehaven is home to more than 2,000 free-roaming deer, from which it takes its name – the ‘deer park’. Although not far from Copenhagen, Dyrehaven offers a chance to swap the city’s vibrant streets for peaceful woodland and wide meadows. On an autumn day, families can explore beneath the changing canopy before heading to Fortunens Ponycenter, where children aged 1–10 can rent a pony for a self-guided ride through the park. A playful way to discover the outdoors and experience nature together.

Esromgaard is one of Denmark’s oldest farms, dating back to 1151. Today, its historic surroundings provide the setting for a quintessential autumn outing with seasonal pumpkin picking. From 3 October, families can wander through the pumpkin fields and choose their own to take home, bringing a little countryside magic to the darker months.

Pack a picnic and settle among the changing leaves, or take a stroll through the garden in search of fallen chestnuts.
